After providing one of the most advanced navigation systems for competition task flying, SkyTrackPro now brings the same professional approach to free flight and serious XC flying.
The new XC Guide introduces a completely redesigned cross-country navigation pipeline that assists pilots during free flights while keeping the competition navigation stack completely unchanged.
XC Guide runs only during taskless free flights. When a competition task is loaded, the normal task navigation system continues to operate exactly as before.
This guarantees a clean separation between competition flying and XC exploration.
All XC calculations follow the official FAI / SkyTrackPro scoring model:
The system continuously evaluates all XC options and recommends the strategy that produces the highest score.
XC Guide calculates several XC candidates simultaneously including straight distance, flat triangles, and FAI triangles.
In Auto mode the system automatically switches to the best option while avoiding frequent changes using stability thresholds.
Safe glide indication — you will reach the next point safely
Watch glide situation — you may arrive low
Below glide — regain altitude
The XC overlay dynamically shows the currently active XC geometry:
Only one geometry is displayed at a time to keep the map clean and readable during flight.
Pilots can also define a custom XC target by long-pressing the map. The system immediately calculates distance, glide requirement and guidance to reach the selected point.
Before starting a free flight the XC Guide can ask for the planned XC strategy and target distance.
XC plan selection before starting a free flight
XC Guide can be fully configured in the settings to match each pilot’s flying style.
XC Guide activates automatically once the system detects a real cross-country attempt. The interface stays clean during local flights and becomes fully active during long XC missions.
SkyTrackPro continues to evolve — delivering powerful tools for both competition pilots and serious cross-country flyers.
