SkyTrackPro App Update — Smarter Competition Navigation and Major Performance Improvements

The newest update of the SkyTrackPro iOS and Android apps introduces powerful new features for both XC and competition pilots. This release focuses on better race awareness, advanced thermal tools, improved performance, and significantly reduced battery consumption.

Internal testing shows up to 50% lower battery consumption while maintaining full tracking and map performance.

ESS / Goal / Elevated Goal Information Banner

A new race information banner gives pilots instant feedback about their glide to ESS or Goal. The system continuously evaluates the required glide and displays a clear color indicator to support quick decision making during final glide.

  • Green — You will reach ESS or Goal safely
  • Orange — You are just making it and may arrive low
  • Red — You are below glide and should regain altitude

The banner also fully supports the new Elevated Goal rule introduced with GAP 2026.

KK7 Thermal Maps — Online and Offline

SkyTrackPro now integrates KK7 Thermal Maps directly into the navigation system. These maps highlight potential thermal trigger locations and help pilots plan more efficient XC routes.

Thermal maps are available both online and offline, making them usable even in remote areas without mobile coverage.

New Flight Logbook Statistics

The flight logbook now includes additional statistics giving pilots deeper insight into their flights and performance.

Benchmark Flight Simulator

SkyTrackPro now includes a built-in Benchmark Flight Simulator. This tool runs a deterministic synthetic XC flight through the full flight recorder and map pipeline, allowing pilots to test performance without actually flying.

The simulator allows testing of:

  • Flight metrics and cockpit tiles
  • ESS / Goal banner behaviour
  • Elevated Goal scenarios
  • Map rendering performance
  • Battery consumption on different devices

Additionally, an ESS / Goal Simulator has been added allowing pilots to simulate race situations and test the information banner behaviour during final glide.

These tools are especially useful for comparing device performance or testing cockpit layouts before real flights.

The simulators can be enabled under:
Settings → Other → Activate Debug Mode
run benchmark test

After testing the benchmark tools, remember to disable Debug Mode again.

Major Battery Optimisations

Significant improvements were made to the flight recorder, map rendering pipeline, and UI update cycles. These changes dramatically improve efficiency during long flights.

Benchmark tests show up to 50% lower battery consumption compared to previous versions.

Navigation Improvements

  • New smooth tail line rendering
  • Improved ground elevation lookup when importing tasks
  • Better support for older hardware such as the Air3 tablet

Stability Improvements

  • General performance improvements
  • Internal optimisations
  • All known and reported bugs fixed
This update further strengthens SkyTrackPro as a powerful navigation and competition platform for modern XC pilots.

SkyTrackPro continues to evolve — delivering modern XC navigation, competition tools, and reliable flight tracking in one unified ecosystem.
